Grimsborough case #7 - death by crucification

The seventh case of criminal case season 1, Jones and the player discover Gordon Mitchell, director of the Red Company, nailed to the cross ala Jesus to the crucifix on his own construction site. Nathan's autopsy report finds that the victim suffered before death and was flogged and bled to death. Nathan also discovered whiskey on the victim, which was not present in the victim's stomach. A torn card found at the crime scene also leads to psychologist Lawrence Bishop, who is hired by Mitchell for the Red Company. Bishop identifies union rep Ed Miller, over some cockamamy persecution complex mumble jumble, and Frank, who was an angry alcoholic when he drinks whiskey. Janovski reveals that there had been a complaint about vandalism on the construction site. Ramirez arrested some gypsies for the offence. Their leader Nikolay denied
knowing the murder victim. Union rep Ed Miller harbors a lot of resentment that the church was totaled in the face of Gordon Mitchell's desire for profit. The player is in introduced to psychiatric patient Linda Lovara, who has schizophrenia. She was treated by doctor Bishop at the psychiatric hospital. Linda's criminal record reveals that she violently attacked someone and was sent to the psychiatric hospital for treatment Linda ran away after Dr. Bishop was banned for malpractice due to drinking on the job. The coveralls that the player found in the parking lot crime scene had confirmed blood from the victim on it and Grace found Nevrax, an antidepressant in the pockets of the coveralls. She warns that mixing alcohol with Nevrax results in the victim losing sense of reality. Frank and and proves that prescribing The Red Company workers with Nevrax Jones and the clear find the murder weapon, a screw gun on the workbench. They also find a bloody plank which has the killers blood on it. Grace confirms that the killers blood type is AB+. Grace finds the final bit of evidence grey hairs attached to some gloves found in an oil barrel. Dr. Bishop turns out to be the killer in anger for burning down the church to build houses for-profit. Judge Hall sentences dr. Bishop to confinement in a psychiatric hospital for an indefinite period of time. In the additional investigation, Jones and the player help Ed find a set of hex keys that were in the toolbox that was locked. Jones and the player then help Nikolai find the hospital info that Ramirez had written down. They have to take the paper back to get and decipher Ramirez's terrible handwriting. Finally Jones and the player help Linda find her healing stone so she can visit Doctor bishop and help him. Grace confirms that the pendant folding the stone was fake and is actually stained glass.

This case was born of greed and realty. Coincidentally, there is a church down the block from me that is being torn down much like the one in this case. Where I am from, there was a major housing crisis with housing being very unaffordable. In my hometown, until recently, the city of Burnaby was tearing down a lot of the riser low income housing and replacing it with high-end condos. In this case, the murder happened because greed superseding religion. Tony Marconi played a prominent role, at the end of the day this case was as much about mental illness as it was about religion.
