A tribute to the Sedin brothers

Daniel and Henrik Sedin will play their final NHL games this week as they recently announced their retirement
Twin brothers Henrik and Daniel Sedin will be retiring from the NHL after 18 seasons in a few days. Drafted in 1999 2nd and 3rd overall, the Sedins have had a remarkable career. Their seeming telepathy on the ice has led to some great goals that left the opposition spinning in circles. Even in the waning days of their careers, Henrik and Daniel continue to put on a show for the fans. Daniel has traditionally been more of a shooter; while Henrik tended to look pass first. The Twins were at their best on the power play where they had the amazing ability to play keep-away with no look passes and deft stick handling. The pinnacle of their careers came in the 2010-11 season when they helped lead the Canucks to a president's trophy-winning 117 point season. Unfortunately the Canucks would lose in the Stanley Cup final to Boston. Daniel led the league in scoring that season with 104 points (41 goals)g. He also won the Ted Lindsay award as top player as voted by his peers. Henrik led the league in scoring the previous season with 119 points (32 goals). Henrik also was awarded the Hart trophy as league MVP that season What made the twins so great is they had so many different linemates over the years and they could adapt so well.

Off the ice the Sedins were outstanding citizens that made the city of Vancouver better In March 2010, Henrik and Daniel donated $1.5 million to help build a new Children's hospital. They spent countless hours visiting sick children at Canucks place.

I feel so fortunate to have witnessed the magic of the Sedins both live and on TV. I will truly miss seeing them on the ice. Daniel and Henrik thank you for shaking my hand at the meet and greet last Saturday and all the best in your future endeavors
