Playsafe

As the days are getting longer and warmer, kids are going to be playing outside more. I've decided to give a friendly reminder to parents and any youngsters who may come across this blog to playsafe. Parents you need to be extra cautious when driving out in suburban roads where kids may run out in the middle of the road after balls. It's important to rememer that kids don't always watch where they are going and thus we as adults need to be aware, perhaps more so than when the weather is not as nice. However, it's not just the drivers who need to be on the lookout, having proper safety equipment is key to ensuring that a summer is not ruined. This includes wearing helmets when riding bikes, wearing the proper sports equipment when playing things like baseball, soccer, etc. I belong to the War Amps, having been born missing my right arm and part of my left hand as well as three fingers. Because of this, I know many fellow amputees who have lost limbs in preventable accidents, including a 23-year-old who was hit by a car while playing outside when she was five.
